Individual Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy, or “therapy”, is a space where individuals can come, be heard in a non judgemental space, and get to know the most interesting person they can learn about, themselves. I truly believe that the most rewarding and important relationship we can have is the one we have with ourselves. Individuals can often feel frustrated and confused about why they continue to do things that are not working for them. This can look like staying in unhealthy relationships, continuing in a career or job that is unsatisfying, or how we relate to friends and/or family. Psychotherapy gives us the space to look at the contributing factors to the behaviors that are not serving you. Below are some of the specialized modalities we can incorporate into our work together. None of these is mandatory, again this work is collaborative and we will not use anything YOU are not comfortable with.

AF-EMDR

Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing

AF-EMDR repairs relational attachments (bonds with loved ones) by focusing on early childhood experiences and providing clients with the tools they need in order to heal.

Parts Work

Parts Work/IFS Informed

Parts Work (Internal Family Systems Informed) is basically the assumption that each of us has many different parts that are active within us. Each of these parts has unique needs, wants, and beliefs and may be consciously or unconsciously helping or harming us. By listening to and learning what each part needs, wants, and fears, and bringing awareness to why each gets triggered, we are able to better understand why we may do the things we do, react the way we react, and feel the way we feel.

Preparation and Integration

Preparation

Setting Intentions and preparing for the psychedelic experience. We look at your reasons and calling to work with psychedelics. We set intentions around what you are hoping to explore during the experience and discuss where you are in terms or your emotional state. We discuss how to best navigate the experience and help you to create tools and supports to join you in your experience if and when you need to call on them. After having a psychedelic experience, we focus on Integration. During integration therapy, we talk through your psychedelic experience. Together, you unravel the deeper messages the experience provided and explore what you saw, what may have been revealed to you, and work on integrating this information and the lessons into your life.
